May 2010 - GOSOWONG GOLD MINE - HALMAHERA, INDONESIA

PT RPC Indonesia has recently completed a site installation at the Gosowong Gold mine situated at a remote location on Halmahera Island in Sulawesi, Indonesia.

The job was to modify an existing fume extraction system, consisting of DN100 and DN600 GRP pipe work to connect an upgraded Gold Smelting Furnace and provide extraction to 4 other points in the Gold room. The components and spools were designed by PT RPC Indonesia from pictures and site measurements supplied by the client. Completed spools, all materials and tools were air-freighted to site using both commercial airliners and finally by chartered helicopter. Everything required to do the job had to be flown in due to the remote location. PT RPC Indonesia's installation team also flew to the site and working to strict Australian Safety Standards required at the mine, including daily job safety analysis, completed the installation in a 60 hour window provided by a planned furnace shutdown.

The client was delighted with the workmanship, and on time performance and of course a perfect safety record..

April 2010 - RPC successfully completes supply of GRP Pipe for Exxon Mobil's Singapore Parallel Train Project

RPC Technologies has successfully completed the supply of large bore GRP pipes for Exxon Mobil's prestigious Singapore Parallel Train Project. The technically complex project involved the supply of 800 meters of buried and above ground GRP pressure pipes. The project marks the first major association of RPC with both Exxon Mobil,Foster Wheeler Parsons JV and F.S.E. of USA. Pipes were made to very stringent specifications from the client and include several custom pipe spools that incorporate Duplex and Silicon Carbide liners within the GRP pipes. RPC scope for this project also included design (including FEA), fabrication, and supply of steel pipe supports. Exxon's pipe design was based on achieving full buried pipe stiffness in absence of external stiffening rings. This requirement presented an added challenge to produce pipes with thickness in order of 40 mm while ensuring uniform laminate properties remained through the laminate.
